What is a great electric guitar for a beginner?

I really am liking the Les paul epiphone, I am good with music I play the resonator guitar now ( DOBRO) and can hear a song and pretty much play it. So whats a really good guitar and can you tell me good amps, distortion pedals, etc. to go with it. Thanks you all very much and continue to rock face lol.

I totally recommend a Epiphone Les Paul. If you think its good, you should totally get it, its worth it. But remember take some time to buy your guitar, don't buy it on the same day you played it the very first time.
Take about 2 or 3 days or even a week to have a chance to play different kinds of guitars, there are a lot out there.

Once you chose your guitar, choose the amp, DO NOT do it the other way around! Cause if you buy an amp then buy a guitar later, it might not sound the way that you wanted it to be. So once you get a guitar (remember what i told you about choosing a guitar), test out on many kinds of amps on YOUR guitar.

About the amps/effects. Me personally, I don't have a passion to play with effect pedals because it takes over your original sound that comes out of the amp uneffected. So I recommend a amp with built in effects (like overdrive/distortion clean/crunch), to get your started and used to an amp. For a beginner, I should say get a Line 6, they are cheap and sound good. Also they are in many different kinds, like a small one for beginners like you, and big ones for people who gig. So if you don't play shows, then get the small one.

Once you think you found the right gear, play once again and go ROCK OUT!
