Festival declared open in style
THE 38th Tamworth Country Music Festival was declared open in style last night, with thousands of locals and visitors packing Bicentennial Park for the official opening ceremony and concert.

Training for guitar has its ups, its downs, and probably a lot of other feelings that are riding on the roller coaster known as emotion, but learning to tame these feelings, or even better - focus them, will make you the player that you always dreamed of.

Guitar playing requires several traits other than just chops. You've gotta have patience, determination, belief, consistency, and joy, and possibly some others as well. I think one of the biggest problems that most beginning guitar players have is that they lose sight of what's going on. Keep your eye on the ball. You can do this by writing down what your goals are for your playing, or more specifically what you want to learn. You could even go so far as to jot down "master that song by such and such band". Point is, it helps to keep track of your progress daily.

Your playing is something that will grow over time, but if not fed with the right knowledge or attitude, it will have some defects. If ever you are feeling down about your playing, go and watch some videos of some of your favorite guitarists for inspiration, and know that one day you will reach their level. Practice is truly useless without belief.

Mixing up what you are learning can make your dreams realized a lot better when training for guitar. For instance, lets say that you love country music and that's your main focus. Well, you can become a master of that style of guitar playing a lot easier if you also try to explore other styles of music as well, because music is universal - they are all connected. By studying a little of this and a little of that, you are increasing your odds of becoming a guitar virtuoso, no matter what musical decisions you make.

Still yet, expert knowledge on how to learn and master guitar can give you the confidence you need. Remember that belief is what helps to learn and master guitar, and that guitar playing without the attitude is missing the point.
