Do you need a pickguard on an acoustic guitar?
I am a beginner and was wondering, do you need a pickguard on an acoustic guitar? What are the benefits? Would it be wise for me to buy a guitar with a pickguard or does it not matter? Thanks in advance!
Well, its really about preferance
When I was a beginner, I felt that I needed a pick-guard because I was so scared to scratch the finish on my guitar
But, as I grew used to my guitar, I learned that very rarely my pick actually hits the pick-guard.
It is not necessary, its really up wheather you feel comfortable with or without one.
I do recommend them for beginners, as a " just in case"
As well, when you feel you dont need one but are still trying to be carefull not to scratch the finish, get a CLEAR pick-guard. I have seen guitarists use clear pick-guards, it makes their guitar look really great because you cant see it, you just see the beautiful finish as well as being safe and carefull!

How can I customize my rockband guitar Specifically the pickguard? I dont mean with skins I mean more creative
I saw something to this degree on Attack Of The Show on G4, but a storm knocked my power out and I missed it. He did something along the lines of taking the pickgaurd off, and decorating it and the body of the guitar separately. How can i do this/ what ideas do you have for me?
That's easy.
Use a screwdriver. There's screws. As for how many of the screws you have to take out (front, back etc). I have no idea. You might end up completely taking the controller apart.
Unless you have a really good idea of what you're doing. I suggest not tampering with it. Because if you break it, its broke. There's no "well, it'll still work..." when it comes to this type of thing.
If you insist on modding a guitar controller. Don't use the crappy Rock Band strat. Use the Les Paul from GH3. That guitar is far superior to the strat.
