Seems everyone loves a good potato salad and there are as many variations as there are cooks. Here are a couple of recipes if you want to try something new next time. Sour Cream Red Potato salad combines sour cream with mayonnaise. The green onions and radishes add color as well as flavor, the celery adds crunch, and the eggs add protein for all the diabetics out there. The old-fashion recipe for Served Hot Potato Salad is also one diabetics can enjoy. The Velveeta cheese and bacon also add protein making this dish okay for diabetics, too.

SOUR CREAM RED POTATO SALAD

3/4 cup low-fat sour cream

1/2 cup fat-free mayonnaise

2 tbsp cider vinegar

1 tsp salt

1 tsp celery seed

2 lbs red potatoes, cooked and cubed

3/4 cup thinly sliced green onions

1/4 cup thinly sliced radishes

1/4 cup chopped celery

3 hard-boiled eggs, chopped

In a small mixing bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, vinegar, salt and celery seed; set aside. In a large mixing bowl, gently combine potatoes, onions, radishes, celery and eggs. Pour dressing over potato mixture and toss lightly to coat. Cover and refrigerate until serving time.

SERVED HOT POTATO SALAD

6 to 8 boiled or baked potatoes, peeled and cubed

1/2 lb Velveeta cheese, cubed

1 cup mayonnaise

1 small onion, chopped

1 tbsp prepared mustard

salt and pepper to taste

3 to 4 bacon strips and drippings

In a large bowl, gently mix together the potatoes, cheese, mayonnaise, onion, mustard, salt and pepper. Partially fry the bacon strips (do not fry crisp). Pour bacon drippings into the potato mixture. Put mixture into a lightly greased baking dish. Crumble bacon over the top of the mixture. Bake 30 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve hot.

Note: This can be made ahead, refrigerated and then baked before serving.

Increasing jump reach is something virtually anyone can achieve. But like so many other things in life that require focus and effort, many athletes take a pass when it comes to developing their jumping skills.

Some hide behind the excuse that it just is not in their genes to be a leaper. And compared to those who come by their hops naturally, that is true. But that is where the comparison starts, not where it ends.

For all practical purposes, anyone can grow their jump reach and can do so by very impressive numbers. In fact, it is those who are born big jumpers who, although they can increase their hops as well, do not have as much room for improvement as do average jumpers. So much for the genetic excuse.

There are also those who will say they gave it a try and after all their hard work, their jump reach only grew an inch or two. In other words, the results did not merit the sweat equity required.

Actually, there is a grain of truth in that point. And in almost all cases there is a good reason for such outcomes. No matter how hard one works, when the effort is focused on only one or maybe two jump development techniques, the results will be minimal and often discouraging.

The point is that there are a significant number of factors that make up our jumping capability. Without addressing all of them, results will be diminished. Big outcomes are the result of very well rounded and complete jump development training.

Of course there are those who want big hops but are not willing to do the work required to make that happen. Nothing can be done for them. There is no magic pill. There are no shortcuts. To attain a worthwhile goal requires knowing what to do and how to do it along with the drive and determination to get the work done. Pure and simple.

Probably the most common reason for failing to really improve vertical jump boils down to going about it haphazardly. Picking up an idea from another athlete or working under the direction of a well meaning coach who lacks the necessary expertise achieves scatter shot results at best. Lots of people have good ideas as well as good intentions. Experts have depth of knowledge and years of experience specializing in this one area. That is far more valuable than are good intentions.

Some small increase in jump reach can be achieved any number of ways. Weight lifting for one. Just plain repetitive jumping for another. Utilizing weight vests, weight belts and ankle weights can work. Jumping rope is another helpful exercise. And the list goes one.

But picking and choosing as if at a lunch buffet will not lead to big increases in vertical jump. What is required is a comprehensive, coordinated program that includes all of the necessary factors to grow a jump reach by ten inches or more. That just does not happen via a hit or miss routine. Eye popping increases call for much more.

Finally, there are those who choose to rely on gimmicks. Jump shoes come to mind. Or jumping up from a platform while strapped to it. Will such things help? To some degree yes, virtually anything that requires the user to jump will have some value. But gimmicks are not the path to big outcomes that greatly enhance competitive performance. That requires real and coordinated training.

There are other reasons people fail at this as well. However, what is important to understand is what it takes to achieve major success that delivers the athlete to an entirely new peak of performance.

Although the answer is easy, the work is hard. Success come from identifying and engaging in a tested, proved, comprehensive jump training system that includes the expert guidance to generate and coordinate total jump development.

Find it, recognize it, understand it and, most importantly, do it. See you up there on the next level.

You've seen the likes of Paul Baloche and Phil Wickham, and now you want to be just like them. You dream of having guitar skills enough to dig out a stash of chord charts and play along. You want to one day stand behind a microphone and play a guitar without making mistakes. And, you hope to do all of this by teaching yourself. Challenging? Maybe. Impossible? No. You can learn to teach yourself worship guitar too. Read on to find out more.

I'm going to assume you already know a thing or two about the guitar and music theory. If you want to teach yourself worship guitar, it is essential that you know how to tune your guitar, what the different strings are, and how to strum basic patterns. You should also be familiar with chords, scales, and timing in music. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, get a music theory book and basic guitar book and review all of the above.

If you're already know how to play the guitar or are quite familiar with how this instrument works, you can go right to worship songs. Review as many chords as possible, especially the majors and minors in the keys of C, G, and D. You'll also need to find some chords charts with lyrics that you can follow along with. These guitar chord charts are easily available off the internet for free at many websites. Alternatively, you could also get guitar chord charts in books that are sold at most music stores.

Teaching yourself worship guitar is as simple as learning the tune of the song, the chord progression, and the strumming pattern. If you can sing the song on key and on time without music, you should have little trouble learning how to play the chords along with it. If, however, you don't really know the song or have a difficult time signing, you would best to find a recording or video of the song and learning how to play along. Most of the times, having someone show you how to learn and play the guitar will be easier than figuring out on your own.

For students who are hoping to learn worship guitar by themselves, videos and recordings of other worship songs will be the most beneficial. Watching and listening to other people play helps formulate and establish the various chords progressions, strumming patterns, melodies, and beats. Listen carefully, watch closely, and practice heartily. You can do it!

German supermodel Claudia Schiffer has decided to quit the runway and launch her own clothing line. In a joint collaboration with the Portuguese Embassy, the designer has conceptualized a unique amalgamation of style, indulgence and opulence named- O Palacio. Set amidst a Portuguese backdrop, the destination with serene and tranquil ambience comprises four fashion design studios, a fine dining restaurant-Casa Portuguesa and an art gallery-Galeria De Arte.

This concept can be seen more as a cultural exchange. We wanted to take our concepts and ideas beyond fashion and the Portuguese Embassy and designers were quite supportive from the day we started working towards this dream, emphasized Nakul, holding a glass of red wine. The opening exhibition, 'Living Art Expanse' marks the launch of the art gallery, displaying contemporary creativity by Indian and International artists. The creative space offers some selected paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures, digital videos, installations and public art. High end womenswear line by Nakul himself and also Shyam Narayan Prasad, Gayatri Khanna and Zoya the multi-designer house is up for the grab. Talking to us, designer Shyam Narayan Prasad shared, Nakul's idea sounded nice so thought of associating with him. We're aiming at changing the collection racks four or five times every month and have kept the pricing reasonable starting from Rs 2,700 to 7,000. Interestingly, Nakul, along with his prêt and exclusive lines has also found his passion in jewellery designing and is planning to come up with his line of shoes and accessories too! The only designer who couldn't make for the celebration was Gayatri Khanna but her opening collection for O Palacio presented the designs which she showcased at her solo show for Mercedes Benz. Zoya one of the most celebrated names in the fashion industry stocks designs by Wendell Rodricks, Priyadarshini Rao, Gaurav Gupta, Savio Jon, Arjun Saluja, Nachiket Bharve, Gauri & Nainika and the Kolkata based label, Vizyon. Come to gourmet, Casa Portuguesa one of the most acclaimed restaurants promises to present a sumptuous palette of authentic Portuguese cuisine.

The comfy and warm ambience of the restaurant offers a fine dining space for fifty people allowing one to be themselves. If you are really among the lucky ones Fransico Sousa the chef and the owner himself may play his guitar and entertain you! The designer added that the restaurant will be shortly opening by November 20.
