Are Steel or Nylon strings better for an Acoustic-Electric Guitar?
I am planning on getting an Acoustic-Electric Guitar. I already have a Steel string guitar. I have built up a good amount of calisus on my fingers, but what would sound better and which are better on an Acoustic-Electric Guitar?

If you would put nylon string on your acoustic electirc, it wouldn't play. Try it !!!!
Acoustic electrics need steel string so the pickup can pick up the sound produced via its magnetic field.
Nylon string are nly good for classical guitars because the guitar itself, is made of light wood and picks up the resonance of those type of strings.
That is why the pickups are put at the bridge or on the body itself.

Mahogany has a commonly straight grain and is usually free of voids and pockets. Its color will darken over time, and displays a beautiful reddish sheen when polished. Mahogany is very durable and has a great workability which makes it as wood crafting and wood furnishings. This wood also resists wood rot, which suitable for boat construction. Mahogany has integrity and capability to produce a very dark, warm tone thus was used as musical instrument such as drum and guitar, either electric or acoustic.
Mahogany was taken by Dutch to Indonesia over 400 hundred years ago then spread all over the country. In early period it was used as an ideal hardwood for building furniture, then it also use as wooden crafting furniture. In Indonesia it has been cultivate to meet a demand of wood. For few species are endanger so it restricts use, such as Honduran Mahogany.
As its characteristics, which resistant to bad weather and insects also sturdy, teak is more suitable than mahogany for outdoor furniture. But the price is more expensive than mahogany which sometimes will be a problem. Therefore mahogany wood furniture is favorable for indoor furniture, at the side of the lower price, the quality is excellent.

...is this because of my tubes? should i get new tubes with a higher distortion? i puchased the head on the marshall off ebay and on the back it said i should replace the tubes written by voodoo amps, but i dont know if the seller did that already... all my effects should make it sound kick ***... should i replace the tubes? if so what do you recommed? im looking for a good Van Halen sound.....I currently have Ruby tubes....any info would help! thank you for your time
